The Ministry of Science and ICT and KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation have announced that submissions for the ‘K-AI Content Contest’ will be accepted until July 11. The competition centers on the theme “Creating a Happy World Together with AI,” aiming to promote proper AI ethics and address potential drawbacks as artificial intelligence becomes more widespread among the general public. The initiative was designed to foster a culture of meaningful and responsible AI technology utilization.

The contest welcomes participants ranging from elementary school students to adults, with different categories tailored to various age groups. Elementary students will participate in poster drawing, middle and high school students in generative AI image creation, while university students and adults will compete in generative AI challenge short-form video production. A total of 46 works will be selected, with prize money totaling 16 million won (approximately $12,000 USD).

Grand prize winners will receive 2 million won along with ministerial awards from the Ministry of Science and ICT and other institutional recognition by category. Excellence awards carry 1.5 million won in prize money, merit awards offer 500,000 won, and encouragement awards provide prizes worth 100,000 won.

The competition has established AI ethics awareness as a crucial evaluation criterion. Submissions must be free from bias and discriminatory elements related to gender, race, age, disability, and other factors. Watermark notation indicating AI-generated content is mandatory. For middle and high school students, university students, and adult categories, only free AI tools are permitted, with the use of paid tools considered misconduct.

The competition period runs from May 26 through July 11, with work submissions accepted from July 1 to July 11. Results will be announced on July 23. Elementary students may submit entries by mail, while middle and high school students, university students, and adults must submit through the official website.

University students and adult participants must upload their works to personal social media accounts before submitting the corresponding links, with mandatory registration of designated hashtags. Selected works will require submission of original video files at a later date.

Further details about the competition are available through the official announcement.
