Kakao announced that it will conduct its first-ever group-wide public recruitment of new employees since its founding, aimed at securing top talent suited for the artificial intelligence (AI) era. The Kakao Group stated it will begin open recruitment for new employees for 2026 starting September 8.
This marks the first group-wide recruitment for new hires across all job functions, including technology, services, business, design, and staff positions.
The core focus of this recruitment is selecting “AI native” talent. The company seeks individuals who naturally utilize AI technology and are adept at creating new value through it. Contrary to concerns that AI proliferation would reduce new graduate hiring, Kakao believes the younger generation, exposed to new technologies early, can become drivers of innovation.
Six major group companies will participate in the recruitment: Kakao, Kakao Games, Kakao Mobility, Kakao Bank, Kakao Entertainment, and Kakao Pay. Applicants can choose and apply to only one company among these options.
Application submissions will run from September 8 to 28. The integrated group recruitment website will open at midnight on the 8th, with actual applications beginning at 2 PM that day through each affiliate’s recruitment page. The selection process consists of document screening, coding tests (for tech positions only), and interviews. Interviews will be conducted in November, with final successful candidates expected to join in January next year.
Jung Shin-ah, Chairman of Kakao’s Chief Alliance Council, stated, “Today’s youth are the first generation to grow up with and naturally utilize various AI technologies. We look forward to active applications from young talents who can find creative answers through unique questions.”
